When I first started roofing back in the 1970s they did not have sun tunnels. When people wanted to bring the sun into a room they had to install skylights. Skylights required special permits and cost thousands of dollars, by the time you framed them in, did all the structural work and drywall. Then to finish them off you had to paint the new drywall. Sometimes the paint was hard to match. The job took weeks from start to finish.
